When It Is Time to Say Goodbye to Your Pet, It Is Best to Do Pet Euthanasia at Home

Many people in College Station, Texas, enjoy the company of a pet, and it doesn’t just have to be a dog or a cat, although, of course, they are probably the two most popular companions for a human being.

Conducting euthanasia at home is best for your pet.

However, there are lots and lots of other animals that can be kept as pets, many of them outdoors in a shed, pond, aviary, and so on. So, you might choose to keep rabbits, a lizard, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, a tortoise, chickens, and more.

Rabbits are easy to keep in a hutch, and quite low maintenance. They just need food, water, and shelter, and you can let them out to run around the yard and explore.

Chickens

Chickens are also easy to keep. They need a hen house to sleep in at night and keep them safe from foxes. They like to sleep off the floor, so a couple of poles set at a height of two feet off the shed floor is ideal. You can create an outside space for them to run around in during the day, and the bigger the better. If you set up a post outside, you can tie the outside leaves of lettuce, cabbage, and so on, that would otherwise be thrown away, into a bunch and hang it a couple of feet off the ground so that they have to jump up to get at it. They love doing that. They also need a nest box or boxes in the shed on the floor level which is where they go to lay their eggs. Not only do you have great pets, but free fresh eggs as well!

If you have a very large garden or a field, you might choose to keep goats. They are sociable animals, so you need to have at least two, and they need at least a quarter of an acre of space each. The fencing needs to be strong because they will always want to see what is on the other side. They are also good at opening gates, so you need goat-proof locks!

One of the sad things about keeping pets is that, in general, they do not live as long as we do. When your dog, for instance, is old and poorly, there comes a time when you will need dog euthanasia in College Station.
